GLS™ TPEs with Antimicrobial Technologies
These specialty thermoplastic elastomers have imbedded, EPA-registered antimicrobial additives to inhibit bacterial growth by 99.9% or more and resist fungal growth in finished plastic parts.
Developed to help preserve high-touch surfaces, these TPE formulations help to extend useful life of molded parts for consumer goods, packaging and automotive applications. The antimicrobial technologies, tested in compliance with JIS Z2801 and ASTM G21-15 standards, actively inhibit the growth of bacteria, fungus, and mold that cause odor and detrimental aesthetic and mechanical property changes to the finished, molded part.
By protecting the finished part from microbe growth, these formulations combine the exceptional performance properties of well-known GLS TPEs with the benefits of antimicrobial technologies, including preserved surface integrity, minimized odors, and increased product durability for a better customer experience.
